Profile

I am an orchestra teacher in an urban school district. I mostly teach middle school but I do have three elementary school programs. I have two adorable cats who are my world outside of school. I play violin, love studying languages, and enjoy writing. I have a deep affinity for Japanese and Celtic cultures which is very evident in my characters.

My writing has been especially influence by J.R.R. Tolkien as The Lord of the Rings is my favorite book. Lately I have become a fan of Jim Butcher's Dresden Files. Despite my love of writing and languages, my heart is drawn towards improving the lives of others and I feel teaching is my calling to do so. Music is very close to my soul and I feel it encompasses all the values, beliefs, and experiences of humanity and expresses them without a single word. I can think of no other gift I would be more honored to give the future.
